Thoughts...

It's hard to be a SAHM (Stay-at-home-Mum). You have hardly any interactions with the rest of the world, your mobile phone becomes your salvation and the only link to everything else beyond your front door. And as if that's not bad enough, you find yourself having conversations with your baby whose vocabulary at the present moment is limited to only ahhs and goos with a side of saliva bubbles.

4ams feeds are less frequent now and I'm infinitely thankful for that. But there are random bouts of sleeplessness and fussiness that result in 2am sleeps and 2.4km walks around the house trying to lull Lucas back to dreamland. Just last night, I fell asleep typing an email and woke up to a long string of gibberish that I had typed semi-consciously.

My sleeping angel baby

But then, I look at that peaceful face and I smile to myself thinking, "wow, I made that?" and I start grinning like a Cheshire cat. It's ironic considering how much time I spent putting him to bed and how much I want to wake him up to see him smile after he has fallen asleep.

To hell with it, I'll sleep when I'm dead :)

CNY and V-Day outfits pick

It's that time of the year again! This year however, V-Day and CNY are just a few short days apart and I've been busy rummaging through my wardrobe for something to wear on both days. Even though I have lost over 10kg within a span of 2 months (yay me!!), I am still unable to fit into my wardrobe full of dresses due to breastfeeding. All I can do is gaze at them longingly and settle for more nursing appropriate attire, which makes shirt dresses my new best friend!

But that's not the case for you folks! There are some lovely frocks out there that are very occasion appropriate! Below are my top picks! *Warning, most of them are from my favourite shops L'zzie and Elisa Litz!

Tiny heart shape cut-outs peppering this simple dress makes this a perfect Valentine's outfit!

Loving this cheongsam inspired dress! Uber sweet!

Loving this entire ensemble for a casual date out!

Loving this simple and sexy Asos dress!

I love how this dress is both V-Day and CNY appropriate!

Not forgetting some awesome shoe picks!

I love love love this pair of flats! Pink and bling, my kinda shoe candy!

A pair of dainty low heels if flats are not your thing :)

I'm all about nude heels because it goes with everything!

Ferragamo Vara Heels in Rosso
And if you have the moolah to spare, knock yourselves out with my dream pair of Ferragamo heels! Goes perfect with the little black dress! *droolz*

Our little V-Day gift exchange! :)

Have an awesome Valentine's Day everybody!

Post delivery

Sorry for being MIA but I have no other excuses except one word, motherhood.

Being a mother isn't easy. Prior to giving birth I naively had a fantasy scenario of the baby sleeping about 4-5 hours a night, leaving me somewhat refreshed. And in the day my baby will be napping for long stretches and I'll be free to do chores, keep my new home spic and span and maybe squeeze in a few baking sessions and lounge on my sofa with a cuppa tea, my baked goodies and a romance novel.

Picture this instead...

A sofa filled with clothes that has to be put away, dishes lying in the sink unwashed, laundry yet to be done and my unruly tresses pinned up perpetually because I have no time to wash it in the afternoons and darkening bags under my eyes because I simply cannot remember what sleeping through the night feels like anymore.

This is my life now. But I've never been happier :)

As I'm typing this post, the little man is lying asleep in my arms, laughing at something in the midst of his slumber. A warm and fuzzy feeling fills my heart knowing that he's having pleasant dreams at this moment, and that he's feeling happy. This right here, makes everything worth it.

It helps that the hubby is a rockstar, taking on the odds and ends I didn't accomplish throughout the day such as laundry and cleaning up things I left behind. He never complains abt the house being a mess and will constantly remind me to leave things undone and go take a nap.

Last weekend we brought the little man out for an excursion because I needed a hair cut for CNY. Hubby wheeled him around for hours while I did my hair. Then we proceeded to the Mayer warehouse sale where he got me my "push present"!

Can you spot it?

Meet Ruby!

Finally! A KitchenAid to call my own! I'm so ecstatic, as any baker will be. I got mine in the colour Candy Apple Red because I love the metallic sheen over the classic Empire Red. Now this beauty is sitting proudly in my kitchen. I can't wait to start baking!

Mayer sale rocks! We got a free oven for purchasing the KitchenAid and the air fryer at an awesome $98 with a free additional grill pan! Our damage was pretty significant but so were our savings!

Ending this post with a little picture of Lucas and his cheeky little grin after I've changed him. Poop and pee no longer bothers me. I've lost track of the number of times he has doodied on me, after which he looks at me and laughs which makes me laugh too. My son, the bully.

Heehee I like to bully Mummy!

Valentine's Day is a'comin! Any plans peeps? :)
