First life lesson...

Lucas is currently into thumb sucking, or basically stuffing every possible thing into his mouth.

I was curious about the attraction of his fingers and if they were truly that tasty. Then today, he offered them to me because I asked nicely.

Nom nom nom....

In conclusion, I still don't get it.

Lucas is experiencing a growth spurt and I am beyond exhausted. I was awoken about 4 times between the hours of 1am - 7am for feeds and I am surprised I could go about my routine today and not collapse due to sheer exhaustion.

Mummy needs a holiday badly.

Thoughts...

It's hard to be a SAHM (Stay-at-home-Mum). You have hardly any interactions with the rest of the world, your mobile phone becomes your salvation and the only link to everything else beyond your front door. And as if that's not bad enough, you find yourself having conversations with your baby whose vocabulary at the present moment is limited to only ahhs and goos with a side of saliva bubbles.

4ams feeds are less frequent now and I'm infinitely thankful for that. But there are random bouts of sleeplessness and fussiness that result in 2am sleeps and 2.4km walks around the house trying to lull Lucas back to dreamland. Just last night, I fell asleep typing an email and woke up to a long string of gibberish that I had typed semi-consciously.

My sleeping angel baby

But then, I look at that peaceful face and I smile to myself thinking, "wow, I made that?" and I start grinning like a Cheshire cat. It's ironic considering how much time I spent putting him to bed and how much I want to wake him up to see him smile after he has fallen asleep.

To hell with it, I'll sleep when I'm dead :)
