The One with the new Waterway Point

Just look at this piece of art. G.O.Rgeous!!

Ooo... lookie at the size of the mall!

Alfresco waterfront dining

Hurray Punggol!

Punggol newest upcoming shopping mall Waterway Point, which sits on top of the new Watertown condominium is just massive, and has well, almost everything. It's twice the size of Bishan J8 and everything you need is taken care of. Food, groceries, basic necessities, entertainment, cinema, books, banks and shops. Ahh...heaveennn... Just a stone throw away from my future abode. I really can't ask for more :)

If you get tired of the variety there, the MRT is directly linked to the mall and you're a good 22 mins away from Dhoby Ghaut for a stint of shopping in town. Even the LRT and bus interchange are connected. So lovely, I'm in Punggol heaven.

I've a friend who was ecstatic about securing a 1-mil unit at the Luxurie @ Sengkang. I'm preettyy sure she's beating herself up right about now seeing that Watertown is definitely more luxurious (amenities and location wise) than Luxurie.

The One with the Condominium Next Door

Looks like we'll be getting upper class neighbours soon!

On the empty plot of land right smack on Matilda Hse. Wooo....

Treasure Trove U/C onemap.sg
So eggciting for Blk 265A. They may potentially get 'poolview'. Or if you wish to see it as glass half-empty, they may be potentially staring at their neighbours frolicking in the pool while drooling from their windows.

Blk 264A *Our Block!*

Baby and I were deciding on Blk 265A. It was our first choice until the Feng Shui master stepped in and told us to go literally in the opposite direction. So we did a tor-balik and landed on Blk 264A unit 314.

Sand!

And sand...

"Poolview" facing block has a floor!

and a lot more sand

The construction of Punggol Emerald is totally underway and I was so surprised to see such huge progress in a short span of time. Looks like our saving plan needs to double-up to keep up with the pace of HDB lego building in Singapore.

加油! ^.^

The One with Our Future Home

After many months of waiting, we finally went down to sign the lease of our new flat. Since we haven't been working long, the payment nearly wiped out our CPF. :(  But purchasing a house is a good investment and I'm certain we will build an extremely comfy home for the two of us and our children. The CSO expects the delivery date to be set around 2Q2014. But through the experience of many others, building HDBs in Singapore is equivalent to building a lego set and that we can assume key collection to be brought forward by a year. Which means less time to save to our desired sum! *horrors*

There goes short trips and weekend binge-ing out the window.
But nonetheless, she got us really excited! Wifey's thinking of turning our home into a showflat and I seem to need to increase budget every week. Here's keeping our fingers crossed that everything will turn out perfect!

The One with the Awesome Queue Number

Our amazing queue number "54" granted us with an excellent array of choice flats in which we got first dips.

Finally... all the selection of housing unit and the fengshui fla-di-dahs are over.
Here's our selected unit.

5-room layout

Do click on the picture to enlarge :)

This unit was selected in conjuction with the general fengshui beliefs of luck, romance, success, education, money and whathaveyous. This, according to Master Koh of House of Feng Shui (HOFS for short), whom incidentally is our good friend Jay's dad, said is the BEST unit of all there is.

Hence our choice.

Not exactly our dream unit since it has a tad of afternoon sun but as I said to Eugene, "Ok lor, now I can sun my clothes and we don't have to worry about bats."
And looking on the very bright side, we got the second highest floor. It has been a while since I stayed anywhere higher than 2nd storey but I suppose there's plenty of wind yes?

So there! One down, a thousand more tasks to go.

The One with the Balloting

Anticipating the balloting results of Punggol Emerald.

I do hope however that even if we do get it, our queue number will be fantastic.

5 rooms are freaking 7 times over-subscribed.Can't be as bad as the 4 rooms which are 8 times over-subscribed. Geez..

9284 applications for 1429 flats. Wow, talk about cherry picking.

HDB has launched Punggol Wave and Punggol Emerald under its April Build-to-Order exercise and is offering 1429 units altogether.

Punggol Emerald is located at the junction of Punggol Way and Punggol Central. The project comprises of 188 units of Studio Apartments, 96 units of 3-room, 350 units of 4-room and 222 units of 5-room flats for sale. A mini-mart and a shop have been planned in this development.

Punggol Wave is located along Punggol Walk comprising of 105 units of 3-room, 259 units of 4-room and 209 units of 5-room flats. A Student Care Centre will be provided in this development.

In line with HDB’s plans to develop Punggol as an Eco-Town, Punggol Emerald and Punggol Waves will be designed for Green Mark Certification incorporating eco-friendly features to achieve energy efficiency, environmental protection, indoor environmental quality and other green features such as use of precast construction methods to reduce wastage, reduction of air and sound pollutants during installation as well as secondary roof system to reduce heat.

The selling price ranges from $73,000 for a Studio Apartment to $403,000 for a 5-room flat. Application will close on 3 May 2010.

Keeping my fingers super crossed because I'm already thinking about renovations! Talk about jumping the gun...
