The One with the Condominium Next Door

Looks like we'll be getting upper class neighbours soon!

On the empty plot of land right smack on Matilda Hse. Wooo....

Treasure Trove U/C onemap.sg
So eggciting for Blk 265A. They may potentially get 'poolview'. Or if you wish to see it as glass half-empty, they may be potentially staring at their neighbours frolicking in the pool while drooling from their windows.

Blk 264A *Our Block!*

Baby and I were deciding on Blk 265A. It was our first choice until the Feng Shui master stepped in and told us to go literally in the opposite direction. So we did a tor-balik and landed on Blk 264A unit 314.

Sand!

And sand...

"Poolview" facing block has a floor!

and a lot more sand

The construction of Punggol Emerald is totally underway and I was so surprised to see such huge progress in a short span of time. Looks like our saving plan needs to double-up to keep up with the pace of HDB lego building in Singapore.

加油! ^.^

The One with the Wedding Shoes

"I have spent $40,000 on shoes and I have nowhere to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!" (Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City)

I know I know...Blame it on the man who invented heels.

I shouldn't be concentrating on shoes. I should be focusing on things that are practical, like the dress, the flowers, my make up, my groom, blah blah. :)
But something about conquering the aisle in 3 inches sounds massively appealing to me. And this is my special day to top it off, so wouldn't I need special shoes to walk down the aisle on this special day?

The One with the Cat

Today a cat followed me home. Weird-ness.

First of all, I'm not that into cats. They like to intimidate with beady little stares which borders on creepy. So imagine my surprise when a black cat leaped to her feet and followed me as I was climbing the usual everest home. I thought it was pure coincidence that this black furball was prancing beside me but soon it dawned upon me that it was following me. I hopped up a step and it hopped up with me, I ran up 3 steps and it followed and back-tracked when I did. Wow. I have my own 4-legged 3D shadow.

So I did what anyone would do. I said shoo. Did it shoo away like a good kitty? Of course not. It followed me up the slope, quietly prancing away and sniffing my paper bag of altered clothes and perhaps hoping for something to eat. I felt my heart strings tug for this furball and decided to rummage the house for something furballs like to eat. Overdued famous amos cookies? Godiva Choco balls? Expired prawn crackers? Perhaps the kitty is into Gardenia Bread?

I settled for a small dish of milk because in Tom and Jerry, Tom is always seen slurping a bowl of milky goodness. So I cradled the dish to my gate and was greeted by sans furball. The kitty apparently ran out of patience and took off in search for better tasting cuisine. Basket-balls

So how was your Thursday? :)

The One with the BigDeal Buffet

I discovered BigDeal vouchers a few months ago when my colleague alerted me to an offer on the internet. Shiu Yakiniku's 13 course Wagyu beef buffet at only $29pp.Seems like a really reasonable deal for dinner so I purchased the voucher and waited for the day when dearie and I are both in the mood for binge-ing. Saturday was such a day.

Stevie the GPS has his wires all screwed up. Brought us to some god-forsaken factory when we were supposed to get to the Bird Park. Maybe Jurong is not his cup of tea. Perhaps he's a central and east-side bias GPS.

The restaurant is reasonably sized but really empty and it didn't help to ease our apprehension that we will leave hungry and unhappy. So we ordered our food and said our prayers.

Yummy and succulent Wagyu

Just half of the entire buffet course
One word. WOW.
I definitely wanna go back and have more wagyu. Yums! It was surprisingly good for a tiny unknown eatery at such a reasonable price. The owner even went table to table to make sure everyone was full and satisfied. Now that I found this little gem, I won't mind venturing to the west again :)

The One with the Wedding Photographers

I don't believe in leaving things till the last minute but work schedules and general every day lethargy sets in and we go all floppy and lazy. I researched for wedding photographers back in April and discovered much to my joy that all the photographers which I have shortlisted were still available for our ROM. Was excited and complacent. Far.too.complacent.

Now that it's May, I thought it'll be a good time that we decide on the photographer and give a deposit to secure the date. I referred to past emails and forwarded requests to double confirm that the date was still available. Out of the 6 I sent out, 5 were all booked and I started panicking. Why oh why why did I procrastinate?? Argh! I ought to shoot myself! *knocks head against wall*

I put my self-proclaimed awesome googling skills to full use and scouted the internet for good photgraphers and chanced upon several great ones. But their charges were sky high and dearie and I were perspiring profusely at the thought of forking out more than $1000 for just 3-4 hours of coverage. Thank goodness out of the 6 email I sent out, N**k G** photography replied and said he was still available for photography on our ROM date and we heaved a major sigh of relief. We arranged for a meet up with him at his studio to decide on which package we wanted. But of course, something had to go wrong. Damn Murphy and his stupid law.

A day before our appt as I was sms-ing N**k to double confirm our meeting, he replied saying he was sorry because his last photographer had been booked the day before. There he was confirming with me via sms that the appt is on and the following msg from him within the next 5 mins had me going into a frenzy. What the heck?! You confirmed the appt with me and suddenly the slot's gone? How the heck did that happen?
His whole logic of first pay first serve basis got me even more pissed but of course being pissed won't get me a photographer for my ROM day. *SIGHS*

The next 3 hours saw poor me sitting in front of the computer browsing pages after pages of wedding photography, emailing pictures to dearie, have him give his opinions, emailing more photographers and I suddenly remembered Venetta Lopez's wedding photos. I found Avenue 8 on the web and sent them an email immediately. Dave Wong from Avenue 8 replied me within 12 hours saying he was still available. Needless to say, we were down at Avenue 8's office within 24 hours to sign the contract and secure our photographer. *MAJOR SIGH OF RELIEF* If I'm gonna suffer more heart attacks like these for the next 6 months, dearie may be potentially marrying a zonked out zombie on our wedding day.
