The One with Wicked at MBS Theatre

Wicked was simple... wicked.

It was sooo good, I was green with envy (pun intended). I wanted right there and then to transform into Elphaba and sing like she can.
So fracking awesome. I had half a mind to hop backstage just so I can fawn over her and sneak a photo, but the dignified Sylvia got the better of me.

I got all dressy for my first musical at MBS

So damn happy

The One with the ROM at Swissotel Merchant Court 20.11.2011

A picture journey of our day joined as Mr and Mrs. :)

A big thank you to Jac for making the venue wedding-perfect. Received lots of compliments on the theme and flowers! I had sooo much flowers leftover I gave it away as thank you gifts to my friends :) It was truly a wonderful morning with no rain thanks to baba's idea of chilli padi and a huge ass onion. Absolutely beautiful weather as evident by the turnout of the beautiful pictures. A big thank you to everyone who made the time and effort to witness our intimate ceremony! Hope you guys enjoyed the food as much as we did!

The One with the ROM Hair-do

Up or down? That has been on my mind for a while. Do I want curls? Or should I leave it straight and abide by the Kate Middleton rule of "I want William (the groom) to recognize me at the altar."

Then I saw her.... the ever so beautiful Blake Lively. Such a sunshine-y sweetheart.

gimme gimme your hair!

I'm gonna rob the diamonds from your hair! Grrr...

Totally red carpet worthy and such effortless chic-ness. ME WANT!!
And so I've decided. This it will be. A quick consult with the stylist guarantees that it's do-able. So I'm a happy little puppy :)

And after hunting for what seems like eternity, and because when I asked if I could buy the same diamond hairclip and the fiancé rolled his eyes and ignored me, I found the perfect substitute. All 2.5 inches of gold-plated, diamante gorgeousness.

So purdyyy!! :) Me likes muchas!

The One with the Cousin's Wedding @ Novotel

Many many weddings this month. On 20/11/2011 alone there's 602 weddings as at 31 Oct. -whistle-

Please please please don't rain. I'll promise to do the sun dance from now till the 20th.

His cousin's wedding at Novotel on 01/11/2011 was omg... so horrificably terrigible. From the plastic love chopsticks wedding favours down to the bad service and honestly not so great food.

Listing the reasons why Novotel is not a good idea just so to remind myself
- The individual menus were obviously hand torn with ruler evident by the jaggard sides.
- The wedding favours appear cheap and uncreative
- The service staff (mainly PRCs and Indians) were unresponsive and just BAD at serving food. We were struggling to polish off the dishes as fast as we could because the cater waiters were standing by ready to clear everything before we were even done.
- The spotlight kept shining on the wrong side of the stage, leaving the bride and groom stranded in the dark
- The projector got cut off halfway while the slides were being played and they didn't bother correcting it till the groom went up on stage, stopped everything and insisted they replay.
- All food was served below room temperature.
- The carpark slope is not very car-friendly.

I really like my dress! :)

My extended family, just 1/10 of them
Keeping my finger crossed for good food at SMC and excellent weather!

The One with all the Finalized Venue Decorator

I know I've not been updating. :( Blame it on no one but myself and my endless list of to-dos which has surprisingly progressed into 10-yr series instead of a short 20-liner.

I've officially turned into a bride-zilla. *gasp*

Met up with Flo from Imp*** Creat*** and came out of the discussion with a further deflated hope (if that is possible) of achieving my dream solemnisation. Her incompetence and creativity level is so appalling, I wanted to reach across her work table in her sparsely decorated office and shake her silly. We managed to strike up a meagre deal but came back home later to an email from her stating a not-so-meagre pricelist. With the rates she's charging for less than mediocre standards, I would rather take the plunge and hire Poppy to do up my venue.

Thank goodness for Jac from Lovedroplets. You saved my life. :)

Upon showing her my color palette, she plucked little ribbon colour boards from her noticeboard and showed me her opinions to whimsify the venue. Totally my style. An initial intention for visiting Lovedroplets to just get a bridal bouquet turned out to be deal struck for our venue decor. I am absolutely in love with her quaint little shop. It smells and looks exactly like what I imagine a decorator's showroom should be.

This is my new color board.

Loving the whimsical feel of it
Take that Flo, you suck!

A huge sigh of relief on my part. The weight on my shoulders has been pretty trying. But yes! I(we) did it! Chop chop chopping it from my list!

List for this weekend
1) Ikea for decor
2) Suit fitting for BB
3) SMC venue recee

Jia you!

The One with the Tie

I have picked my ROM dress! (which will be revealed come ROM day) and have been on a hunt in search of a matching tie for the dearest.

And yesterday... I found it!

I believe it's one of the few days where we can be in matchy-matchy attire and get away with it simply because it's expected and understandable. I'm one of those (and Eugene considers himself a lucky man) who sees couple tees as a HUGE fashion faux pas and will never dare step out of the house wearing a boyfriend / girlfriend tee. I draw the line at same coloured attire.

Such a hefty price tag for a tiny tie, but totally worth it because the colour scheme complements me to a tee and the design is the exact kind of subtle elegance he loves.

Love the grey tones under normal lighting

and how it turns silverish with flash

and the subtle preens... loves!

HAPPY super EARLY ANNIVERSARY! xoxo

The One with the Flowers

Flowers have been on my mind for the past week. The images in my head are filled with different coloured roses, freesias, eustomas, sweet williams, maria roses and lilies. Times like this I wish I had a wedding planner, someone to swoop in and rescue me from all the decisions I have to fret over.
Heading for a meeting with Sarah from Poppy today. Perhaps she'll come to my rescue by stunning me with the bouquet of my dreams. After that is done, I'll sweep the husbo-to-be over to Michelangelo to celebrate the end of an extremely stressful week.

Freighting over some decor for EMC because I, the pain-in-the-butt bride thinks the cafe looks too everyday to pass off as a setting for a celebratory luncheon.

On a side note, I have downgraded 1.5kg from the frenzy of it all. So for brides who have been googling on how to lose weight, this is the perfect solution. Plan your own wedding because the closer you are to achieving your dream wedding, the hotter you'll look in your wedding gown. How's that for efficiency? :)

The One with the Should-haves

When bb and I started planning for our ceremony last yr, we got caught up in the excitement and buzz of it all that we forgot about the possibility that we may consider otherwise nearer the date and change our minds about certain things. We wanted to get a headstart and not have too much to worry about closer to the day. But humans are fickle and we are often swayed when we see something better.

We've got a considerably good package from JWN after many many taps on the calculator both by us and the coordinator, a really good price on our wedding bands and a TDF solemnization venue that still makes me swoon (pls dun rain!). But I feel that we could have done better, if we
- researched more and fight for more perks
- insisted on certain 'must haves'
- considered our choices more thoroughly

Along the way, we have encountered doubts, feelings of being ripped off and changes of taste.

So, just a word of caution to all brides and their HTB. Start scouting for a bridal studio after doing thorough research. More often than not, stepping into the BS usually results in you leaving with a package. Pls note that I adore my BS, I just thought we could have fought harder and insisted on more pictures and a specific MUA.

Look for your wedding bands 5-6 months before the wedding. It gives you ample time for a brand new piece to be made and go back and forth about what to engrave. That way you would have browsed all possible designs, scouted for many possible jewellers, consider what other brides have to say on forums regarding certain designs and most importantly, what you truly love, can afford and perhaps matches your gorgeous solitaire. I bought mine really early and ended up changing the design to my dream wedding band. I'm really lucky to have a HTB who accommodates and plans our wedding according to "as long as you are happy."

So happy planning, and remember to give and take and consider what your other half likes! It's as much your SO's day as well as yours. Im sure you will all have a blast! :)

Just something cute n silly... Enjoy!

In the world of romance, one single rule applies: Make the woman happy.

way the game is played.

Here is a guide to the point system:

sports bar (-2) And it’s all-you-can-eat night (-3) It’s a sports bar, it’s
all-you-can-eat night, and your face is painted the colors of your favorite
team (-10)

A NIGHT OUT

You take her to a movie (+1)
You take her to a movie she likes (+3)

You develop a noticeable potbelly (-15)

shirts (-30) You say, “It doesn’t matter, you have one too.” (-8000)

THE BIG QUESTION

She asks, “Do I look fat?” (-5) (Yes, you lose points no matter what) You
hesitate in responding (-10) You reply, “Where?” (-35) Any other response
(-20)

The One with the Condominium Next Door

Looks like we'll be getting upper class neighbours soon!

On the empty plot of land right smack on Matilda Hse. Wooo....

Treasure Trove U/C onemap.sg
So eggciting for Blk 265A. They may potentially get 'poolview'. Or if you wish to see it as glass half-empty, they may be potentially staring at their neighbours frolicking in the pool while drooling from their windows.

Blk 264A *Our Block!*

Baby and I were deciding on Blk 265A. It was our first choice until the Feng Shui master stepped in and told us to go literally in the opposite direction. So we did a tor-balik and landed on Blk 264A unit 314.

Sand!

And sand...

"Poolview" facing block has a floor!

and a lot more sand

The construction of Punggol Emerald is totally underway and I was so surprised to see such huge progress in a short span of time. Looks like our saving plan needs to double-up to keep up with the pace of HDB lego building in Singapore.

加油! ^.^
